How does a project usually start?

With a ninety-minute conversation, usually with whoever can authorise a change of position. We will tell you in that meeting whether we think the problem you have described is the problem you have. If it is not, we will say so before there is a proposal to argue about.

What does an engagement cost?

Positioning projects start at £45,000 and campaigns at £60,000. Creative direction runs as a retainer from £9,500 per month with a six-month minimum, and editorial from £6,500 per month. Digital experience projects start at £70,000. Every proposal is scoped and fixed before work begins — we do not bill against estimates.

Do you work with in-house teams?

Most of our best work has been made with one. Creative direction and editorial in particular are built to leave capability behind rather than dependency, and our digital practice works inside client engineering teams rather than delivering to them.

Do you take on media buying?

No. We design the media architecture a campaign needs and brief your agency or partner against it. Keeping the buying separate from the creative is the arrangement we would want if we were the client.

How small a project is too small?

If the answer is a single asset, we are the wrong studio and will usually be able to recommend a better one. If the answer is a question about what the business should be saying, there is no such thing as too small — that conversation is free and often ends with us telling you that you do not need us yet.

Who actually does the work?

The people named on the Studio page. Lumaire has thirty-one employees and no freelance bench standing in for them; the partner who presents the work is the partner who does it.
